Laid Off? A Financial Checklist for the First 30 Days After Job Loss

Laid Off? Start With Stability, Not Panic

Being laid off can feel personal, even when it is not.

If you were recently laid off in Salt Lake City, elsewhere in Utah, or anywhere in the country, the first goal is not to solve everything immediately.

The first goal is stability.

You need to know what money is coming in, what money is going out, what benefits may be ending, what deadlines matter, and what can wait until your income is stable again.f
